The Software Engineering group in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Alabama invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellowship to begin on or after June 1, 2010 (but no later than October 1, 2010).
The Fellow will have the opportunity to work on one or more research topics in the general area of software engineering and languages. Specific areas/topics that lie in the intersection of the group members’ research interests include: code clone analysis and management, concept location, domain-specific modeling, program comprehension, reverse engineering, and software engineering for computational science and engineering. The group also has a strong interest in conducting empirical studies in these areas.

Responsibilities: The Fellow will be expected to perform basic research, to publish and present obtained results, to provide technical guidance on projects for graduate and undergraduate students, and to assist in writing new research proposals.
Duration: The appointment is for two years (contingent on a satisfactory review after the first year).
Qualifications: Applicants must have: (1) an earned PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field at the time of appointment, (2) excellent written and oral communication skills, and (3) demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
