The International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) invites
applications for a postdoctoral Fellow position in the area of
high-performance network security monitoring.
The Fellow will be working with ICSI’s networking group on
designing, implementing, and evaluating novel approaches to highly
concurrent network traffic analyses in large-scale network
environments. The work will focus on exploiting the concurrency
potential of both commodity and special-purpose hardware platforms,
as well as on building novel programming & execution environments
tailored to the target domain.
Candidates should have a strong systems background in either
networking or concurrent systems, as well as interest in research
combining the two fields. Candidates should also have extensive
experience in multiple of the following areas: network security,
network protocols, multi-core architectures, compiler technology,
performance profiling, network processors, custom hardware design.
Furthermore, candidates should be familiar with programming in C/C++
& Python in Unix-based environments.
ICSI is an independent not-for-profit Institute located a few blocks
from the Berkeley campus of the University of California. It is
closely affiliated with the University, and particularly with the
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) Department. See

The appointment will be for one year, and a Ph.D. in computer
science (or an equivalent degree) is required for the position. To
