About Cindy Bethel

I was born and raised in Columbus, OH. I completed my B.S. in Computer Science (summa cum laude) and my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of South Florida located in Tampa, FL. In 2005 I was awarded an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and in 2008 I was awarded the only IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Graduate Fellowship for that year. I am currently working as a CIFellow at Yale University, Computer Science Department in the Social Robotics Laboratory. My mentor is Brian Scassellati. My research interests are in the areas of Human-Robot Interaction, Human-Computer Interaction, Robotics, Affective Computing, and Artificial Intelligence.
