Yi-Jen Chiang

University/Research Lab: Polytechnic Institute of New York University
Location: (Brooklyn, New York)
Personal Research Web Page: http://cis.poly.edu/chiang/

Keywords: scientific visualization, computer graphics, computational geometry, high-performance algorithms and data structures for large-scale problems.

Posted on: Saturday, June 6th, 2009
Broad Research Area: Graphics / Visualization, Theory / Algorithms

Research Interests:

My research interests are in visualization and graphics, in
particular how to deal with large datasets in visualization and
graphics effectively and efficiently. We have been conducting
cutting-edge research in data analysis, visualization, and
geometry processing and computing, including out-of-core
techniques for datasets too large to fit in main memory, graphics
compression, multi-resolution/level-of-detail (LOD) techniques,
time-varying data visualization, computational geometry,
isosurface extraction, surface and volume simplification and LOD
rendering, computational topology and topology-driven
visualization, and high-performance algorithms and data
structures.
