Research Interests:

Research interests span the following range of applications and methodologies.

On the application side, focus in prior years have been on various network protocols, including congestion control, routing, scheduling, and power control, in both backbone IP network and wireless and DSL broadband access networks. On the methodology side, focus have been on optimization theory, game theory, distributed algorithms, and stochastic networks. See www.princeton.edu/~chiangm/publicationsselect.html

More recently, application focus have been on Content (P2P, network economics, content aware networking), Green (green IT and remote healthcare through wireless networking), and Social (online content trading and rating systems).

The Princeton EDGE Lab has opened, focusing on bridging theory and systems in networking. For details please see http://scenic.princeton.edu
