Broad Research Area: Programming Languages / Compilers, Software Engineering
Research Interests:
My research group focuses on developing automatic analyses of programs to support software testing (recently focusing on web applications), software developer search of source code during maintenance (concern location), optimization for improved performance for parallel architectures, debugging, program understanding and other software developer tools. We use machine learning, data mining, and manual analysis of thousands of large software systems to guide the development of our analyses, and evaluate our techniques through solid experimental study, human subjects when appropriate, and statistical analyses. The research group involves collaborations with professors within the university as well as collaborators at other universities. The research lab includes PhD, master’s and very good undergraduate student researchers.
