I am in the Information School and Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington, where I direct the Computing for Healthy Living & Learning (CHiLL) Lab. Our primary focus is in Human-Computer Interaction, Ubiquitous Computing, and Persuasive Technology. We are interested in designing, developing, and evaluating applications of computing technology that aim to promote healthy lifestyles and education. We design and develop mobile, persuasive, and collaborative technologies with the goal of helping with record-keeping, review, and motivation to pursue health and educational goals of individuals, families, and teachers. Current projects are focusing on health for families from diverse populations, therapists for children with autism, and individuals with sleep disorders. We are also researching related topics, such as effective persuasive computing and record-keeping techniques and improving the empathy in technologies for health. More information can be f ound at the CHiLL Lab website: http://depts.washington.edu/chilllab
