Jim Martin, along with Martha Palmer, directs the Center for Computational Language and EducAtion Research (CLEAR) at UC Boulder. CLEAR is dedicated to advancing fundamental Human Language Technology. Our current projects include improved statistical machine translation through the use of shallow semantics, application of NLP and machine learning techniques to electronic medical records, and automatic analysis of social media during natural and political crises.
