Research Interests:
My research is in the broad area of parallel and distributed computing, including cluster computing, grid computing, cloud computing, and volunteer computing. Within this area I focus particularly on questions pertaining to scheduling and resource management, going from theoretical contributions (novel complexity results, novel scheduling algorithms) to practical contributions (system designs and implementations, application deployment). A key technique for conducting quantitative research in this area is simulation of distributed systems. Consequently, some of my research also explores the issues of speed, scale, and accuracy for the simulation of distributed systems. All my recent publications are available on my personal Web page.
