Broad Research Area: Software Engineering

Research Interests:

I have worked in many areas of software engineering from the most theoretical to the most applied and everywhere in between. My primary interests focus on software quality. For the last 7 or 8 years my group has been developing statistical models that accurately predict the location of defects in the next release of a large software system. We have done several empirical studies using large 24/7 industrial systems to evaluate the effectiveness of our algorithms. I have also developed a number of well-known software testing approaches, and have done research in software performance testing.
