Edith Hemaspaandra

University/Research Lab: RIT, Department of Computer Science
Location: (Rochester, NY)

Keywords: computational social choice, computational complexity, constraints

Posted on: Wednesday, April 28th, 2010
Broad Research Area: AI / Machine Learning / Robotics / Vision, Theory / Algorithms

Research Interests:

My work is mostly on how to manipulate elections and how to foil the manipulation of elections. So I study how complexity can build shields for elections and how algorithms can attack poorly shielded election systems. I am also broadly interested in the complexity of constraints, and in computational complexity itself. My two recent postdocs are back in Germany and doing great in schools there, and I would love to work with a new postdoc.

If, as per the CIFELLOWS programs goals, you are looking for multiple mentors, let me mention that Prof. Lane Hemaspaandra is 10 minutes away and our groups work together very closely, and so we would make a good 1-2 punch.
