Research Interests:
We are interested in a number of NLP tasks applied to chat and blogs. Including, but not limited to:
–Topic detection;
–Sentiment Analysis;
–Detection of persuasion;
–Subjectivity detection;
–Parsing chat/blogs;
–Conversational thread extraction in chat;
–Authorship attribution in chat and blogs.
A number of our projects are in collaboration with the Linguistics Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz. There will be ample opportunity for interaction and joint publication.
