Research Interests:
My research interests are in databases and information systems, including topics such as data cleaning, Web search, string processing, semi-structured data, large-scale data analysis using parallel computing (Hadoop/Mapreduce). My research team has been actively developing information systems and making contributions to the open-source community. Current projects including Flamingo (http://flamingo.ics.uci.edu/) on data cleaning, TASTIER (http://tastier.ics.uci.edu/) on type-ahead search, and ASTERIX on managing large-amounts of semi-structured data using parallel computing (a joint project with Prof. Mike Carey).
